Pony Road Trip!!! 2011JULY18 ~1700 PT I finally got off my dead hindquarters and cantered on over to the mecca of SoCal, The Hub's Bridlemaids Billboard at Barham and Cahuenga in Studio City! The ponies are still in excellent condition! I was afraid they might have been vandalized or weathered by now, but I could not see anything out of place. They seem to be made of a heavy duty material, not paper. Maybe it is planned for them to be there for an extended stay! They are cute and posing in a really crappy, noisy, busy, cramped intersection that gets huge traffic, good for Hub and our pony advertising, but is not fun to be in. I would have liked to have sipped a couple of beers basking in the glory of 8 foot tall pony mares, but the wind of passing cars and the noise of the 101 freeway about 50 feet behind and 50 feet down from where I took these pictures kind of made it not exactly pony contemplation friendly. My little Dashie, Twi, and AJ were in danger of being blown off this traffic control box at any second, but they held up well. This was the only place I could put them so they would be in the picture. I just put them up there randomly and quickly; there were strange ape creatures staring from their cars at my herd and I, but I lucked out and they are in the correct order as they stand on the billboard. I could not see the top of this box. I held the camera up there and took the pictures. I found out later in one of the pictures that there is a quarter sitting on top of the thing, so any brony brave enough to go out there again might find a little memento of his/her trip. If I can buy Rarity to complete my herd of the mane six, I might go out again to get them all in the picture, but it would be a lot more fun with at least another nutty pony fan. It was rather impressive to see them up there in full huge color. There really is no place near here to have had a group viewing with other bronies, but there is a pizza joint kitty corner from here. Pizza, beer, and ponies! The sidewalks are very narrow and the traffic is horrendous most of the day. I parked in a Mobil station to the west of here about 50 yards and walked back to drink in the sight. The herd I brought along enjoyed the outing to see their pictures plastered up for the world to see! Sadly, I was not even sure if I would find a place for one pony, so I only brought out the 3 here. I think you could get the mane cast on this thing and still get a nice group picture in front of the billboard. I was very happy I finally went to see them. I just wish it was in a nicer area. I was there for about 15 minutes.
